Often HIVpatient has many diseases in same time. Same same for his skin off course.

He was suffering from chronic eczema.(Scabies or other allergic origin?). After a few days he started a new disease with no connection to eczema. Varicella or other viral infection (disseminated large vesicular erruption, without pus, symmetrical distribution, whole body...). We gave acyclovir and he recovered from the second disease. But we are not sure that acyclovir was useful... Often with is such vesicular erruption, the patient recovers by himself.
